2. The Freiburger Cathedral![]() |
3. The market master Andreas Weigl![]() |
This page should not be history of the market, but a painting conveying a special atmosphere, quasi a "declaration of love" of a "Freiburger Bobbele" (dialect for a person who's born in Freiburg) at his "Muenschderblatz"(place arround the cathedral).
Of course it is important to mention, when the market always takes place:
Monday until Friday of 8:00 a.m. (you are welcome already at 6:00 o'clock)
to 1:30 p.m.
Saturday of 8:00 a.m. (you are welcome already at 5:00 o'clock (!)) to 2:00 p.m.
On the north side of the Muenster is the farmer market, where native farmers, butchers and bakers offer native products.
Mouse-click on the small pictures brings an enlargement in the landscape format 640 x 480 or in the portrait format 480 x 640 pixels. The average size of all pictures is with 45 kilobyte.

On the south side of the Muenster are the dealer and artist market. There are fruits and vegetables from countries all over the world, as well as sausage, ham and bacon from the region, in addition, much handicraft and above all arts and crafts.
On both market areas are a great deal good restaurants. In the warm seasons one can sit in the free and enjoy the multicolored market driving directly.
